LSI ADL Technology, a subsidiary of LSI Industries is looking for a 1st shift Manufacturing Engineer to add to our Manufacturing Engineering Team at our Columbus, Ohio location.

LSI ADL Technology is an Electronics Manufacturing Services company based in Columbus, Ohio producing Circuit Board Assemblies, Box Build and Cable Assemblies in the Industrial OEM and Lighting markets. We services customers in the Columbus, OH region. Our production work ranges from running Surface Mount Technology Lines, Wave Solder Machines, Potting Machines and Wire Processing equipment in addition to Soldering, Manual Assembly, Conformal Coating & Testing of products. We also incorporate an Inventory Control team responsible for Receiving, Shipping & Materials management throughout the facility.


LSI ADL is looking for energetic and outgoing individual to join the Manufacturing Engineering Team. In this role candidate will perform design reviews with DFM, DFT, DFA and NPI. Conduct research for new equipment and processes improvements, develop proposals for equipment with capital justifications, and perform root cause defect analysis for cost of quality (COQ) reviews. Work with engineering and production associates to maintain, troubleshoot, service, and provide technical support for all SM and TH PCB production equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing processes, production equipment, and PCB assembly methods for continuous improvement projects to meet requirements of dynamic customer base.
  • Machine Programming experience preferred for this position.
  • Monitor new products and projects; determine fit within current production processes and equipment. Determine requirements for new product and make recommendations for equipment and processes changes to meet technology demands for customers and products.
  • Develop capital expenditure proposals and perform cost justifications for new equipment for manufacturing, assembly, and test.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) reviews for new products.
  • Experience creating and implementing SM and TH machine programs for Universal Instruments Production Equipment with Aegis manufacturing software.
  • Experience with electromechanical troubleshooting and machine repair for PCB assembly and soldering equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance and engineering support in the form of process improvements including performing root cause analysis, and implementing preventative and corrective actions as required
  • Assist with quoting, the development of manufacturing routers/travelers, production BOM’s, write work instructions and procedures, and generate illustrations
  • Initiate and manage Engineering Change Notices for all customer assigned products
  • Represent LSI Industries in the most positive manner with prospective, current and former employees, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve
  • Interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of employees and customers
  • Learn and practices standard operating procedures
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance based on the work hours established by management
  • Handle confidential information with tact and discretion
